Templecombe Medieval Fayre
5 - 6 Jun 2010
Imagine a warm summers day with a pint of scrumpy in one hand, a ploughman's in the other... one eye on the belly dancers and one on the battle.....bliss....
This is a gem of a show... little known and one of Somerset's best kept secrets. This sleepy little village comes alive at the end of the Whitsun half term break, and the Early Medieval Alliance re enactors put on a show which climaxes with the destruction of the 'castle' on the Sunday. All proceeds, entrance fees etc go to charity
Dark age/ Viking to early medieval...Templecombe was the knights templar somerset stronghold.
sorry the link to the event is just google maps... but as it is a local charity event (and kept quiet) it's not really advertised... signposted when you get to the village...and WELL worth the trek! However it is well attended by the re enactment community...
